Ground Control, a CLS Group-backed provider of satellite communications and positioning solutions, and Ambrey, a global maritime security and operational intelligence company, today announced a go-to-market partnership to deliver RockFLEET Assured, an assured positioning, navigation and timing (A-PNT) solution designed to support vessel navigation and oversight in environments affected by GPS denial, jamming, and spoofing.
The partnership combines Ambrey’s maritime risk expertise, operational support, and client reach with Ground Control’s engineering and satellite connectivity capabilities, bringing assured vessel positioning to shipowners and fleet managers operating in high risk and degraded GNSS regions.
Responding to a Growing Operational Vulnerability
Shipping companies increasingly face real operational risks associated with GPS denial maritime conditions, including GPS interference. Recent analysis from the Royal Institute of Navigation, amongst others, highlights that jamming and spoofing incidents are pervasive in key trade regions — from the Baltic and Black Seas to the Arabian Gulf and Straits of Hormuz — affecting navigation, safety, crew confidence and cargo security.
The ramifications range from collisions, groundings, unpredictable vessel paths and compromised situational awareness, creating safety-of-life and economic risk. As an emerging source of operational hazard, GPS denial underscores the need for resilient positioning solutions.
RockFLEET Assured: Assured Vessel Tracking
RockFLEET Assured provides an authenticated position source and integrity-aware reporting, integrating an Iridium PNT module to support assured positioning (A-PNT) workflows. The solution includes a rugged, marine-grade smart antenna and two way satellite messaging, allowing crews, shore teams and maritime risk stakeholders to validate vessel positions, detect anomalies, and maintain continuity of operations even when GPS signals are unreliable or denied. Ambrey will take a leading role with Ground Control in bringing RockFLEET Assured to commercial shipowners and fleet managers, embedding assured tracking into its existing services and enabling its clients to trade with confidence around the globe.
