Affiliation Analyst Analytics is a full-time position based at Ambreyโs Southampton office.

The Role
As an Affiliation Analyst within Ambreyโs Southampton office, you will form part of the
organisationโs intelligence and riskโanalytics capability, contributing directly to Ambreyโs
mission of supporting โevery seafarer, every vessel, everywhereโ through advanced maritime security insight. Working within the Global Operations Centre, Ambreyโs 24/7 hub for maritime awareness, you will play a key role in identifying, assessing, and contextualising vessel affiliations, ownership structures, and associated risk indicators to support operational decisionโmaking and compliance requirements across Ambreyโs service portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Entity analysis: Assess companies, vessels, and individuals to understand their characteristics, activities, and potential exposure (publicly available and actual).
- Ownership structure investigation: Examine corporate records and registries to identify beneficial owners, control structures, and relationships between entities.
- Target profiling: Evaluate how entities align with known threat actor risk typologies, the evidenced strength of that fit, and critically consider the information available to threat actors.
- Analytical collaboration: Work with regional/thematic analysts and the data analyst to refine the statistics and indicators associated with target profiles.
- Structured data analysis and enrichment: clean, organise, and analyse datasets to ensure accurate entity resolution and reliable analytical outputs.
- Duty Analyst support and cover: provide periodic coverage of Duty Analyst shifts, including event collection and evaluating source reliability and information credibility, incident triage and first-line advice, and event analysis.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- A bachelor’s in a related field such as criminology, history, international relations, political science or security studies.
- Strong open-source research skills across corporate registries, maritime databases, threat actor sources, and media sources.
- Entity and corporate analysis: ability to analyse companies, vessels, and individuals to understand operational characteristics and risk exposure.
- Risk analysis: ability to apply risk indicators and analytical frameworks to evaluate potential exposure to threat actors.
- Network and link analysis: able to identify relationships between entities and map complex networks of organisations and individuals.
- Clear written communication and ability to translate complex analytical findings into concise risk assessments.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
- Salary: commensurate with experience
- Annual Leave: 25 days per annum plus public holidays
- Working hours: 08:30am to 17:30pm Monday to Friday
- Duty hours (when required to cover): Four days on, four days off, rotating through the following shifts: Day (08:00-16:30), Late (16:00-00:30), and Early (00:00-08:30).
