ICIC CARGO CONFERENCE

“Ambrey will attend and present at this year’s International Cargo Insurance Conference.”

The UK is home to a dynamic and well-established marine cargo insurance industry, with a strong presence in major cities nationwide. Yet, by nature, cargo insurance is a global business—reflecting the complexities and interconnectedness of international trade.

Cargo represents a significant share of the insurance market. The International Cargo Insurance Conference (ICIC) aims to reflect the ongoing transformations impacting our sector—shaped by evolving technology, demographic shifts, regulatory changes, and changing consumer needs.

Formed in 2014, the ICIC Committee consists of London market professionals from across the insurance spectrum. Since inception, the goal has been to create an inclusive, neutral, and professional platform—open to all within the marine cargo insurance community.

As part of the commitment to professional development, 2017 saw the launch of the ICIC Recognition of Excellence Award, sponsored to highlight and support Under-35 talent within the industry. The competition continued in 2018, with the winner participating in ICIC Oxford and MICA New York. This initiative remains a core feature of our programme.

Each year, ICIC presents a comprehensive agenda of expert speakers who address pressing issues in cargo insurance. The conference is supported by key global marine associations including AIMU, JCC, and IUMI—strengthening our position as a truly international event.

Since 2014, ICIC has consistently spotlighted the critical challenges facing the global cargo community. From ecological risks and economic volatility to political instability and cyber threats, our market remains resilient. With increasing global demand for goods and the advent of autonomous shipping technologies, the future of marine cargo insurance presents both complexity and opportunity.
