The Role
This position based in our Mumbai office is for a full-time Senior Accountant for Ambreyโs Finance Department based in India. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing and overseeing the companiesโ financial operations in Mumbai for our multinational group, ensuring accuracy and compliance with international standards and local regulations. This role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, experience with international tax laws, and excellent communication and leadership skills to manage junior staff and collaborate with various international teams. The Senior Accountant will be instrumental in maintaining financial integrity and supporting strategic decisions.
Responsibilities
- Overseeing many aspects of the groupโs financial operations, including general accounting and financial reporting and banking.
- Ensuring adherence to international accounting standards (like IFRS or US GAAP) and local Indian tax laws and regulations.
- Managing accounting tasks related to international business transactions, including currency conversions, transfer pricing, and international tax implications and inter-company transactions.
- Preparing and reviewing financial statements, reports, and analysis for both local and international stakeholders.
- Collaborating with external auditors to ensure smooth and accurate audit processes.
- Managing tax related activities, including tax planning, tax filings and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
- Mentoring and managing junior accounting staff, providing guidance and support in their daily tasks.
Qualifications and Skills
- Qualified or part-qualified in an accounting degree or finance related.
- Relevant experience in accounting or a related field.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g. Sage, QuickBooks, Xero).
- Ability to analyse financial data and identify areas for improvement.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Accuracy and attention to detail are critical.
- Ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
- Familiarity with international accounting standards and practices will be an advantage.
- Working closely with other departments, such as sales, operations and legal, to support international business initiatives and ensure financial alignment.
- Demonstrating expertise in accounting software (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Sage) and advanced Excel skills.
- Analysing financial data, identifying discrepancies and implementing solutions to resolve accounting issues.
Terms and Conditions
- Salary: Up to INR 1,654,117 per annum commensurate with experience
- Annual Leave: 23 days per annum plus public holidays
- Working hours: 08:30am to 17:30pm Monday to Friday
