Junior Maritime Operations Officer – India

This is a full-time position based at our Mumbai, India office.

The Role

The Junior Maritime Operations Officer (JMOO) plays a critical role in supporting global operational and administrative functions across the Global Operations Centre (GOC) which is based in Southampton, UK. Based in the Mumbai office, the JMOO is central to the smooth delivery of day-to-day administrative activities and the maintenance of accurate operational records across key systems.
The JMOO is responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date internal transit records throughout the full employee lifecycle, from onboarding through to offboarding. By providing comprehensive administrative and operational support to the GOC, the role ensures effective coordination, reliable record-keeping, and efficient daily operations, enabling the wider team to focus on core business activities.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date internal transit and operational records across all relevant systems throughout the transit lifecycle, from onboarding to offboarding.
  • Provide comprehensive administrative and operational support to the Global Operations Centre (GOC) to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes by coordinating documentation, system updates, and required administrative actions.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with internal policies, procedures, and data protection requirements.
  • Coordinate and track administrative requests, ensuring timely completion and appropriate follow-up.
  • Liaise with internal teams and stakeholders to support effective communication and information sharing.
  • Identify and escalate issues or discrepancies in records or processes as required.
  • Support continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance administrative and operational processes.
  • Provide ad hoc administrative and operational support in line with business needs.

Qualifications & Skills

  • High levels of initiative and self-motivation.
  • Have good judgement and decision-making skills, with an understanding of the impact on stakeholders.
  • Strong multi-tasking skills, with the ability to coordinate activities, facilitate unit goals and manage resource requirements.
  • Excellent IT skills covering the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong administration skills, with the ability to assist in numerous projects simultaneously.
  • Previous experience within the maritime services sector in an operational coordination/administration role would be advantageous.

  • Mon-Fri 0830-1730 with a weekend rotation 1 in 3
  • 600,000INR
