The Role

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Commercial Delivery General Manager to join
the Commercial Delivery Team based at our Mumbai Office. This position reports directly to Chief Commercial Officer. The Commercial Delivery General Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and operational effectiveness of the office. This role has primary accountability for the oversight of the Commercial Delivery Team, ensuring
maritime-related contracts, services, and projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and
profitably. The General Manager also provides strategic and operational oversight of all
office employees, ensuring alignment with regulatory, commercial, and organizational
objectives.

Responsibilities

Commercial Delivery Oversight

  • Lead and oversee the Commercial Delivery Team to ensure effective execution contracts and services.
  • Ensure delivery activities comply with maritime regulations, industry standards, and company safety and quality requirements.
  • Oversee planning, resourcing, scheduling, and cost control for commercial delivery activities.
  • Monitor performance against KPIs including safety, financial outcomes, timelines, and customer satisfaction.
  • Work closely with chartering, operations, sales, and finance teams to support commercial outcomes and client relationships.

Office & People Leadership

  • Provide leadership and oversight for all office employees, including operations, administration, technical, and support functions.
  • Build a strong safety-first, compliance-driven, and performance-oriented culture aligned with maritime industry expectations.
  • Support and develop staff through coaching, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration between office-based teams and operational stakeholders.

Operational, Compliance & Strategic Management

  • Ensure office operations comply with applicable maritime regulations, statutory requirements, and internal governance frameworks.
  • Oversee budgets, forecasts, and financial performance at the office level.
  • Identify and manage operational, commercial, and regulatory risks.
  • Drive continuous improvement in systems, processes, and reporting related to maritime operations and commercial delivery.
  • Act as the senior escalation point for operational, people, and client issues

    QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

    Required

    • Extensive senior management experience within a maritime, shipping, offshore, or marine services organisation, with a track record of leading high-performing teams and delivering commercial outcomes.
    • Demonstrated experience overseeing commercial delivery, operational functions, or project-based teams within a maritime or shipping context, with responsibility for service delivery, client satisfaction, and commercial performance.
    • Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to interpret market drivers, competitive positioning, and commercial risks to support strategic decision-making.
    • Proven experience managing complex commercial workflows, including pipeline oversight, forecasting, bid management, and client engagement.
    • Exceptional leadership and organisational abilities, capable of driving accountability, building team capability, and managing competing priorities across multiple business areas.
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills, able to build strong relationships with internal teams, clients, partners, and senior industry figures.
    • High proficiency across the Microsoft Office Suite, with strong Excel and PowerPoint capabilities essential for reporting, analysis, and presentations.
    • Experience working with CRM systems, SharePoint, and commercial reporting tools.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret commercial data, market intelligence, and operational information to guide decisions.
    • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, handling multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.

    Desirable

    • Tertiary qualification in Business, Maritime Studies, Logistics, Operations
    • Management, or another relevant discipline.
    • Relevant maritime or shipping industry certifications or professional memberships (e.g., ICS, IMCA, IMarEST, Nautical Institute).
    • Experience representing an organisation at industry events, conferences, and senior-level forums.
    • Prior experience within a multinational or multi-service maritime organisation, coordinating commercial delivery across different business units.

    TERMS AND CONDITIONS

    • Salary: commensurate with experience.
    • Annual Leave: 23 days per annum plus public holidays.
    • Working hours: 08:30am to 17:30pm Monday to Friday.
    • Job type: Full-time, permanent.
    • Overseas travel as required and directed.
