2010

AMBREY FOUNDED

Founded in 2010, Ambrey set out to deliver marine security services with a fresh, client-focused approach—offering solutions that were more dynamic and innovative than those of traditional security firms.

2011

SEISMIC PROJECTS

Seismic Projects: We provided comprehensive and effective security solutions for multiple offshore seismic operations in Tanzania, ensuring the safety of personnel, assets, and operations throughout each project.

2014

BIMCO

We became Associate Members of BIMCO in 2017. Following the purchase of two 871 DWT vessels in 2017 we are unique as being members as both a PMSC & vessel owners

2016

WEST AFRICA

We set up our operations in West Africa, and within a year have conducted over 250 operations in the region

2018

SECURITY ESCORTS

We acquired three Security Escort Vessels—Sentinel, Pegasus, and Sirius—to strengthen our operations in West Africa, increasing our owned and operated fleet.

2019

OFFSHORE SAFETY

We secured a major offshore safety support contract for an oil and gas project in the waters of Senegal and Mauritania. Following this success, we officially established our presence in Senegal, allowing us to deliver dedicated offshore safety support services across the region.

2020

AMBREY INSURANCE BROKERS

Developed in collaboration with Ambrey’s intelligence analysis team, AIS introduced a comprehensive 360° approach—offering well-informed, competitive insurance solutions alongside dedicated claims support.

2023

AMBREY ANALYTICS

Ambrey Analytics was founded to provide market-driven analytical insights and services, supporting port-to-port operations by equipping vessels and their crews with timely intelligence and strategic support.

2024

SOUNION

Ambrey successfully led a commercial salvage operation initiated by the vessel’s insurers, preventing a potential spill of over one million barrels of crude oil and safeguarding marine life, coastal communities, and local fishing industries.

2025

AMBREY GLOBAL SPECIALTY

Ambrey announces the launch of its new specialist marine MGA – Ambrey Global Specialty (AGS). AGS focuses on ‘spot breach’ marine hull war risks insurance, leveraging Ambrey’s proprietary data and intelligence to deliver insight-driven risk mitigation and robust financial protection for maritime clients operating in high-risk regions.
