My role is largely focused on ensuring our clients are fully satisfied with the services we provide and that we have an effective sales process that maximises Ambrey’s growth and share of the various markets we operate in.
The best aspect of my job is getting on the road and seeing our clients in person. The shipping industry is a people business and you get to meet an amazingly-diverse set of people from a huge variety of backgrounds. At the same time you get to travel all over the globe and experience different cultures and cuisines, which is a real bonus.
I find it easy to get along with people, so forging new relationships and building trust and understanding with clients comes very naturally to me.
I’m an open and honest person, so while I try and make sure we give our clients what they want I always include my own recommendations. So it can be hard sometimes if those experience-led opinions or pieces of advice get ignored because of commercial necessity. That can be very frustrating.
